Students take part in Basant Kite Flying Festival

On Monday 18 April the University of Kent celebrated the Punjab Kite Flying Festival ‘Basant’. The event was a great success with over 50 students turning up to take part. A few kite flying professionals were discovered at the event, as their kites stayed in the air for more than an hour! Most importantly, people from all different backgrounds and cultures came together – students from UK, Pakistan, India, Mauritius, Nepal and Italy took part.

The event was organised by 2nd year Business Administration student Muhammad Adil, from Pakistan. Adil made an application to the Multicultural Events Fund and was successful in receiving funding for the event. Congratulations and well done, Adil!
