Kent hosts international employability event

The International Development Office at the University of Kent is delighted to be hosting an Erasmus Staff Training Week from 11th to 15th February. The event focusses on the theme of employability and staff at Kent’s Erasmus partner universities and partners within the Santander Group European Universities Network have been invited to take part in this interactive week-long programme.

The Erasmus Staff Training Week will include a general overview of HE in the UK as well as Kent-specific presentations on the international student experience and internationalisation. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend sessions run by the Careers and Employability Service, Human Resources, Innovation and Enterprise and the Graduate School. The workshops and presentations will have an emphasis on sharing views and best practice from across Europe. Professor Luciano Saso the Vice Rector’s Delegate from International Mobility at La Sapienza University in Rome, a member of the Santander Group, will run a joint session on doctoral employability with Professor Diane Houston, Dean of the Graduate School.

In line with Kent’s Internationalisation Strategy, the Erasmus Staff Training Week will provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen links with strategic partners and will be a useful forum for discussing best practice in promoting student employability.

There are no more available places on the 2013 Erasmus Staff Training Week, however, if you would like information about similar events in the future, please contact Primrose Paskins or Jan Lowe in International Development.
