Educational Counsellor meets with Vietnamese students

International Development was delighted to welcome Ms Huong Nguyen, First Secretary and Education Counsellor for the Education Office of the Vietnam Embassy in the UK, to the Canterbury campus in February.

Ms Huong met with Joanne Ganderton-Smith and James Banner both of whom have visited Vietnam on a number of occasions. The visit included a tour of Kent’s School of Biosciences, and the labs where Ms Nguyen had the opportunity to talk to research students. This was followed by a lunch with the Vietnamese students at Kent and some of the academic teaching staff. In the afternoon Ms Huong visited Kent Business School, and later met with Loba Van der Bijl, Programme Director, MSc Finance, Investment and Risk.

In recent years’ the applications from Vietnam have seen a significant increase with popular subjects including Actuarial Science; Business; Politics and International Relations; and Finance, Investment and Risk.

The main purpose of this type of visit is to showcase the University to our external stakeholders and to give our students an opportunity to meet with another support network. If you would like any further information please contact us.
