International Student Experience Fair 2022

On Thursday 20th October 2022, international students from across the University joined us for the International Student Experience Fair, an afternoon of refreshments where they could find out more about how to enhance their studies and improve their learning experience.

Students had the opportunity to meet representatives from organisations across the University, from Kent Union to Biffa and from GoAbroad to Kent Sports. Plus, they were tasked with participating in a treasure-hunt style quiz for a chance to win prizes.

One of our prize winners, Yavnica Poddar (pictured below), said the International Student Experience Fair was “one of the most fun and interactive” so far this term. “We got to know about the various facilities provided by the university,” Poddar continued. “I would surely recommend my fellow peers to attend such events, to never miss an opportunity to learn beyond classrooms and network. I am also thankful to the whole international programmes team for organizing such an enlightening event for all international students”.

In their feedback, other students described the event as useful, informative and beneficial. In particular, they listed the amount of information the fair contained, the friendly stalls, and the opportunity to meet other international students as highlights of the event.

From a survey carried out with event exhibitors, many found it very useful to attend, and half of those surveyed said they noticed an increase in enquiries about their services from international students following the fair.

If you’re an international student and you missed the event, don’t worry! You can meet many of the organisations who attended and find out more about support services and opportunities available to you in our short video, available to watch here.
