New advanced Mandarin Chinese module for 2018-19

We're launching a new Mandarin module at CEFR level C1.1

Chinese Festival Lanterns
  "Chinese Festival Lanterns" by SCadinot.

Mandarin Chinese is one of the most spoken languages across the world, and according to the ENGCO model of language forecasting, it will still be the number one language in 2050. Graduates who have good Chinese language skills are highly sought after by employers. Proficiency in the Chinese language and a practical knowledge of contemporary China gained on this module can lead students to a wide range of career destinations which operate in or with China, e.g. the Civil Service, international trade, legal industry or banking.

With more and more students entering university with a GCSE or A-Level Chinese qualification, our existing three levels of Mandarin Chinese modules (from complete beginners to upper-intermediate) may not be enough to accommodate these students’ needs. We are therefore offering a 30 credit advanced Mandarin Chinese module, LA538, to anyone who has completed our upper-intermediate level Mandarin module LA519 or has equivalent Mandarin Chinese language skills. LA538 will be available from Sep 2018.

Please feel free to contact us at cewl@kent.ac.uk or the Mandarin Chinese modules and course convenor, Mrs Su at R.Su@kent.ac.uk, if you have any question related to Mandarin Chinese study.
