How Can Student Enterprise and Business Start-Up Benefit You?

If you are one of the many students who see the word ‘enterprise’ and instantly think “it’s not for me…” then think again. Student Enterprise is not just about helping you start your own business; it’s also about equipping you with valuable entrepreneurial skills sought-after by potential employers, and being able to demonstrate these skills in a practical capacity. So let’s take a look at how getting involved in Student Enterprise can benefit you:

Starting your own business is an option Probably the most obvious way in which Student Enterprise can help you is if you really want to start your own business. This can be anything from a small business to help you fund your studies, right up to a working for yourself as career path or a way to champion the ‘next big thing’ and find some investment. Sometimes you need less help than you think, it’s just taking that first step is always the hardest. If you would like to speak to someone about getting your business off the ground, book a session using the online form.

Improving your employability potential If you haven’t heard of the Enterprise Online Module, now is a great time to start. The module is an extra-curricular module on Moodle designed to focus on the core skills of enterprise. There are four levels to achieve: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Advanced with Distinction. It is certificated at each level so you can demonstrate to potential employers that you gained some worthwhile skills whilst you were at university.  To find out more about it and how to take part, click here.
