We have a series of events scheduled over the next few months at the Great North Museum: Hancock, Jewry Wall Museum, Salisbury Museum and Worthing Museum. These events offer a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to hear about our research, learn more about the project, ask us questions and even handle replicas of ancient Roman objects.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_972\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-972\" style=\"width: 285px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-972\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/hoards\/files\/2026\/07\/20260707_104719.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"285\" height=\"214\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-972\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Setup for GNM interactive session (Photo: James Gerrard)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>James recently led a session at the Great North Museum on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northeastmuseums.org.uk\/greatnorthmuseum\/whats-on\/home-educators-workshop-roman-hoards\">\u2018<em>What are Roman Hoards?<\/em>\u2019<\/a> This was a gentle introduction to our research and late Roman hoarding, tailored for twenty home-educated children and their families. It was a great session with lots of lively discussion and questions.<\/p>\n<p>The session was very well received, and it was lovely to receive positive feedback from those that attended. Several participants called the session \u2018super interesting\u2019 and \u2018jargon free\u2019, while another complimented James\u2019s delivery for \u2018not talking down to the children\u2019. We are hoping that some of the children will write a short story about late Roman hoards and submit it to our competition, or join us again at the museum later in July.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Upcoming events in July:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leicester: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jewrywall.com\/what-s-on\/late-roman-treasure-hoards\/\">Jewry Wall Museum<\/a>, free drop-in session, 20<sup>th<\/sup> July, 11-3.30pm.
