{"id":501,"date":"2025-08-07T08:02:01","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T07:02:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/hoards\/?p=501"},"modified":"2025-08-08T12:38:30","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T11:38:30","slug":"project-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/hoards\/2025\/08\/07\/project-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Project update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are now halfway through our project and have travelled to lots of different museums to examine surviving late Roman hoards and collected a vast amount of data to study in greater detail.\u00a0Now that these visits are complete, we are excited to move to the next stage of the project and begin to examine our data and build on our preliminary observations.<\/p>\n<p>Some highlights from our project so far include a hoard linked to a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/hoards\/2025\/02\/26\/bowerchalke-hoard\/\">dowry payment<\/a>, possible evidence of hacksilver in a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/hoards\/2024\/09\/25\/late-roman-hoard-from-dorchester-dorset\/\">spoon hoard<\/a> from Dorchester and the case of a misidentified <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/hoards\/2025\/01\/28\/misidentifying-a-container\/\">pottery fragment<\/a>. We were very busy in July carrying out our final museum visits and examining the objects from four late Roman hoards.
