{"id":214,"date":"2015-03-04T12:13:47","date_gmt":"2015-03-04T12:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/history\/?p=214"},"modified":"2019-03-08T10:31:42","modified_gmt":"2019-03-08T10:31:42","slug":"students-view-sites-of-victorian-science-in-trip-to-south-kensington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/history\/2015\/03\/04\/students-view-sites-of-victorian-science-in-trip-to-south-kensington\/","title":{"rendered":"Students view sites of Victorian Science in trip to South Kensington"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A group of History students took their studies out of the classroom last week, spending the day in South Kensington, viewing sites of Victorian Science.<\/p>\n<p>Associate Lecturer Dr Oliver Carpenter took the group of seven\u00a0Stage 2 students on the trip, which included a\u00a0visit to the Natural History and\u00a0the Victoria and Albert Museums, as well as the Prince Albert Memorial in Hyde Park, the Royal Albert Hall and numerous Victorian buildings where various scientific societies, such as the Royal Geographical Society, the School of Mines and the Geological Survey, were based.<\/p>\n<p>The students are all currently studying our &#8216;Victorian Science&#8217;
