{"id":1919,"date":"2022-03-08T13:05:20","date_gmt":"2022-03-08T13:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/history\/?p=1919"},"modified":"2022-03-08T13:05:20","modified_gmt":"2022-03-08T13:05:20","slug":"school-of-history-to-host-the-annual-transatlantic-studies-association-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/history\/2022\/03\/08\/school-of-history-to-host-the-annual-transatlantic-studies-association-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"School of History to host the annual Transatlantic Studies Association conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We\u2019re delighted to announce that the School of History will be hosting the annual Transatlantic Studies Association conference, from 4-6 July 2022.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/history\/people\/399\/johnson-gaynor\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gaynor Johnson<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Professor of International History, has been able to bring the conference to Kent. Johnson says \u201cIt will be the 20<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> annual conference, so it promises to be quite a grand affair!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Keynes will be the base for the academic business of the conference and where delegate accommodation will be located.\u00a0 The conference dinner will be at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The TSA is an international community of scholars with a shared interest in all aspects of the Atlantic world.\u00a0 Not just the Anglo-US paradigm, but also Latin and South America and African history.\u00a0 It encompasses history in all its forms &#8211; not just political and diplomatic &#8211; but cultural and global. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The TSA also has a very strong tradition of work on transatlantic literature, music, popular culture etc.\u00a0 Indeed, anything that can be said to have relevance to the transatlantic world.
