If you find a journal article or other resource through a search engine, please be aware that we<\/strong>\u00a0may not<\/strong>\u00a0subscribe to it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You might already know that you can search for an article title in LibrarySearch<\/a><\/strong> or for the title of the journal itself in our Find e-journals<\/a><\/strong> page. But we also provide tools that let you customise your web browser so you can check for access without visiting our webpages.<\/p>\n

LibKey Nomad for Kent<\/h3>\n

By downloading this browser extension to your PC you can check whether we have access to a journal article OR ebook and link to it quickly and easily. This is especially useful when you are searching off campus.<\/p>\n

  1. Go to the\u00a0LibKey Nomad<\/a>\u00a0download page<\/li>\n
  2. Choose your browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave and Vivaldi)<\/li>\n
  3. Once installed, open LibKey from your browser and select University of Kent\u00a0 to link it to our collections and subscriptions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This will save these settings to the browser on your computer. Now, when you search, you will get links through to the content that we have access to, including on Google Scholar.<\/p>\n

    Using LibKey Nomad<\/h3>\n

    The LibKey Nomad button will now appear at the side of your browser when you find a journal article. If the article is accessible by our library subscription or open access, you can instantly download the PDF or click through to the article.<\/p>\n

    If the article you searched for is not available the\u00a0Access Options<\/strong>\u00a0button will appear and direct you to further options for obtaining a copy.<\/p>\n

    No Access?<\/h3>\n

    If you discover we don’t have the full text to an article, don’t panic, you can use our Document Delivery Service <\/strong><\/a>to request digital copies of journal articles delivered to your desktop.<\/p>\n

    Note: There is a limit to how many items you can request through this service each year, so check the article’s abstract first to make sure you really need this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
