Much of Sophia&#8217;s research has focused on how heritage sites and museums can address some of the most pressing global challenges, including social justice, gender equality or sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Her 2017 book\u00a0<i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Museums-Immigrants-and-Social-Justice\/Labadi\/p\/book\/9781138502291\">Museums, Immigrants and Social Justice<\/a><\/i> (Routledge) assesses how European museums can address the cultural, economic, social and political inequalities facing immigrants.\u00a0The\u00a0 2016 book\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.editions-harmattan.fr\/index.asp?navig=catalogue&amp;obj=livre&amp;no=52011&amp;razSqlClone=1\"><i>L\u2019Impact de la Culture en Europe<\/i><\/a>\u00a0(L\u2019Harmattan) assesses the social and economic impacts of heritage regeneration in European cities. Her 2015 edited volume (with Professor Logan) considers issues of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Urban-Heritage-Development-and-Sustainability-International-Frameworks\/Labadi-Logan\/p\/book\/9781138845756\">Urban Heritage, Development and Sustainability<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.fr\/UNESCO-Cultural-Heritage-Outstanding-Universal\/dp\/0759122563\"><i>UNESCO, Cultural Heritage and Outstanding Universal Value<\/i><\/a>\u00a0(AltaMira Press, 2013) analysed the World Heritage and Intangible Heritage Conventions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Heritage-and-Globalisation-1st-Edition\/Labadi-Long\/p\/book\/9780415571128\">Heritage and Globalisation<\/a> (co-edited with Dr Long)\u00a0analyses the politics, policy and practice of cultural heritage at the global level.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The researcher Sophia Labadi is Professor of Heritage at the University of Kent.
