What is World Suicide Prevention Day?
Every year organisations and communities around the world come together to raise awareness of how we can create a world where fewer people die by suicide.
Each year has a different theme and focus, to bring to light a specific aspect of suicide prevention.
When is it?
World Suicide Prevention Suicide Day is always on 10th September.
Why is it important?
It is especially important this year as the lockdown imposed on everyone globally due to Covid-19 has impacted the mental health of a larger number of us whether it is due to feeling lonely as isolated, increased anxiety about our health, financial concerns due to job loss, etc.
The following links provide further details about World Suicide Prevention Day and the Take A Minute Campaign. Taking a minute to reach out to someone in your community – a family member, friend, colleague or even a stranger – could change the course of another’s life.
