{"id":606,"date":"2018-04-19T12:48:11","date_gmt":"2018-04-19T11:48:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/graduateschoolnews\/?p=606"},"modified":"2018-07-24T15:12:45","modified_gmt":"2018-07-24T14:12:45","slug":"registration-now-open-for-south-east-hub-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/graduate-researcher-college-studenthub\/2018\/04\/19\/registration-now-open-for-south-east-hub-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Registration now open for South East Hub 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Join us at the University of Kent for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/graduateschool\/southeasthub2018.html\">2018 South East Hub<\/a>, a postgraduate and early career researcher conference with the theme: &#8216;Victims, Perpetrators, Bystanders and Collaborators as historical concepts: Redundant labels, useful categorisations or somewhere in between?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The South East Hub 2018 will be held in the Grimond building (University of Kent, Canterbury campus) on 19th June and is co-funded by CHASE and the University of Kent School of History. The conference is an opportunity for research postgraduates and early career researchers to discuss their topics in a friendly and supportive environment. This year, papers will address the conceptual utility of the terms victims, perpetrators, bystanders and collaborators in a variety of historical contexts.<\/p>\n<p>The panels are: &#8216;Accusation, Collaboration and Resistance&#8217;, &#8216;The Victim Voice&#8217;, &#8216;Simultaneous Categories&#8217;,\u00a0and &#8216;Regimes and the Right&#8217;.\u00a0The keynote talk will be delivered by Professor Tim Cole and is entitled, &#8216;Perpetrators, victims and bystanders: Writing integrated histories and geographies&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is free to attend.\u00a0Lunch, tea and coffee will also be provided, and a wine reception will follow the event. Please note that there are limited spaces,\u00a0so places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
