The GSA is for Postgraduate Taught students and is designed to enhance global awareness and improve employability through a programme of workshops and postgraduate talks.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3751\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/graduate-researcher-college-studenthub\/files\/2025\/06\/GSA-2025-03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our programme offered sessions that cover various topics, including intercultural communication, leadership skills, presentation skills, managing stress, working under pressure and support in academic writing. In 2024-2025 we had truly exceptional talks that were as thought provocative as informative:<\/p>\n<p><em>Climate Change and You by Jake Bicknell<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Research at Kent: Shaping the future<\/em><br \/>\n<em>The benefits of biodiversity for our health and wellbeing by Jessica Fisher<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Exploring Global Cultures<\/em><br \/>\n<em>2035 and the Future of AI by Tommy Hills<\/em><br \/>\n<em>&#8220;Look What You Made Me Do&#8221;: Taylor Swift &amp; 21st Century Feminist Practice by Claire Hurley<\/em><br \/>\n<em>OnlyFans and The Politics of Pornography by Iain MacKenzie<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3752\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/graduate-researcher-college-studenthub\/files\/2025\/06\/GSA-2025-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #767676;font-size: 19px\">I<\/span><span style=\"color: #767676;font-size: 19px;font-style: italic\"> really enjoyed the lectures and workshops I attended; the practical know-how is very useful and some of the lectures were fascinating with one in particular providing an unexpected perspective on my, completely unrelated, course.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Julia Benning, MA Philanthropic Studies<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3753\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/graduate-researcher-college-studenthub\/files\/2025\/06\/GSA-2025-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The programme is designed to broaden students&#8217; understanding of global issues and current affairs. While developing their personal skills it also enhances their career prospects. In today&#8217;s job market it is particularly valued to have exceptional skills and be aware of the global challenges.
