{"id":229,"date":"2015-02-20T11:16:47","date_gmt":"2015-02-20T11:16:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/graduateschoolnews\/?p=229"},"modified":"2015-02-20T11:40:33","modified_gmt":"2015-02-20T11:40:33","slug":"bfwg-research-presentations-day-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/graduate-researcher-college-studenthub\/2015\/02\/20\/bfwg-research-presentations-day-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"BFWG Research Presentations Day 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>All welcome\u00a0|\u00a0Saturday May 16<sup>th<\/sup> 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BFWG holds a Research Presentations Day each year at which women postgraduate students are invited to give short presentations of their research work to a general audience.\u00a0 A prize of \u00a3100 is offered for the presentation judged \u2018best\u2019 in terms of quality of presentation and ability to communicate the subject to an educated but general audience.\u00a0 Those interested in making a presentation should go to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">www.bfwg.org.uk<\/span> to download an abstract submission form. \u00a0Abstracts should be submitted to <a href=\"mailto:awards@bfwg.org.uk\">awards@bfwg.org.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing date for abstracts is Friday March 20th 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It may be necessary to make a selection from abstracts submitted if there are too many entries for the time available.\u00a0 Please note: BFWG is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">not<\/span> able to pay travel or other expenses.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">All<\/span><\/strong> undergraduates, postgraduates, members of BFWG and others who are interested will be very welcome to attend the RPD <em>even if they do not wish to submit a paper.<\/em>\u00a0 There is no charge for <em>bona fide<\/em> students, whether or not they are presenting a paper, but there is a charge of \u00a310 on the door for others.\u00a0 (A sandwich lunch is provided).\u00a0 The Research Presentations Day is usually a good opportunity to meet other postgraduate women students and to look objectively at the presentation styles of others.\u00a0 It can be a useful learning experience and an opportunity for networking.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to attend the day please contact: Dr Elizabeth Poskitt: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">awards@bfwg.org.uk<\/span> if possible before May 9<sup>th<\/sup> 2015 .<\/p>\n<p><strong>Venue: <\/strong>BFWG HQ, 4 Mandeville Courtyard, 142 Battersea Park Road, London SW11 4NB<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All welcome\u00a0|\u00a0Saturday May 16th 2015 BFWG holds a Research Presentations Day each year at which women postgraduate students are invited to give short presentations of their research work to a general audience.\u00a0 A prize of \u00a3100 is offered for the presentation judged \u2018best\u2019 in terms of quality of presentation and ability to communicate the subject &hellip;
