Past speakers include\u00a0<span class=\"mw-page-title-main\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Richard_Dawkins\">Richard Dawkins<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"mw-page-title-main\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A._C._Grayling\">A. C. Grayling<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carol_Tavris\">Carol Tavris<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Simon_Singh\">Simon Singh<\/a>, <\/span><span class=\"mw-page-title-main\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sophie_Scott\">Sophie Scott<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hannah_Fry\">\u00a0<\/a><\/span><span class=\"mw-page-title-main\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hannah_Fry\">Hannah Fry.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr Zhang&#8217;s talk, &#8216;Rogue Scientists and the Elephant(s) in the Room&#8217;, unpacks governing\u00a0challenges in the development of global biotechnology. From experimental stem cell therapies to the CRISPR babies scandal, it seems that regardless of public education, desperate patients still fall into the hands of rogue scientists. Instead of simply being \u2018bad scientists duping the public\u2019, the human stories behind rogue science often point to more unsettling questions about what we expect of each other and of science.
