Dr Simon Bailey, Dr Jennifer Leigh,\u00a0Dr Aparajita Mukhopadhyay, Prof\u00a0Lubomira Radoilska and Dr Joy Zhang\u00a0attended the University of Kent’s signature research theme (SRT), Future Human<\/a>‘s sandpits last week.<\/p>\n

Over two days of interdisciplinary discussions with colleagues across Divisions, the five GESJ members mapped out an exciting research agenda on ‘Augmented Agency, Digital Self-Care, and Augmented Fairness’<\/span><\/span>\u00a0with the aim to explore the\u00a0complexities of <\/span>agency<\/span> involving the reflexive <\/span>and unreflective <\/span>use<\/span>s<\/span> of technologies in self-care<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The<\/span>y propose the use of qualitative<\/span>, <\/span>narrative-based methods<\/span> as well as conceptual analysis and hermeneutical interpretation<\/span> in order to<\/span> understand how digital health<\/span> operate<\/span>s<\/span> as an architecture of choice, what forms of agency this depends upon and affords, and how this experience is differentiated according to socio-cultural determinants of inclusion and <\/span>exclusion<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
