We’re very pleased to announce the publication of the ODESSI 2025 Conference Report, a new addition to the GSEJ Futuring Governance series. The report is jointly authored by Dr. Matthew McKenna, PhD candidate Ceylan Hassan and Dr. Oliver Pritchard-Moore. It captures the first major in-person international discussion of the O.D.E.SS.I. initiative, held in London at the end of September, and summarises the key reflections and suggestions put forward during the event.
In the coming years, we aim to host in-person O.D.E.SS.I. events in different parts of the world to broaden participation and foster inclusive dialogue. We look forward to creating opportunities for science communication and science diplomacy scholars and practitioners from diverse regions to connect and collaborate.
The next in-person O.D.E.SS.I. meeting will be held on 22–24 July 2026 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. It will form a dedicated stream of the International Conference on Science, Technology and Society (iCON-STS 2026). The theme of iCON-STS 2026 will be ‘STI for Social Good: Adapting Policy, Society, and Industries for Sustainable Development.’
If you are interested in contributing to the research and facilitation of global dialogues on emerging life sciences, or in co-organising a future O.D.E.SS.I. event, please get in touch with the Centre for Global Science and Epistemic Justice at gsej@kent.ac.uk.
