Dr. Mbioh on Algorithmic Violence

The next GSEJ online seminar will take place on Friday 21 Oct between 13:00 -14:00 BST, with the title ‘Algorithmic Violence: A Feminist Approach’

The session’s speaker, Dr Will Mbioh is Lecturer in Law and Director of Inclusion. He has published on issues related to digitalisation and the regulation of electronic surveillance by national security and law enforcement bodies. He is currently working on two research projects on digital vulnerability and inclusion and the regulation of digital platforms.

The session is chaired by Professor Carolyn Pedwell, who is the author of three monographs, most recently, Revolutionary Routines: The Habits of Social Transformation (McGill-Queens UP, 2021).  Her Leverhulme Fellowship (2020-2021), ‘Digital Media and the Human: The Social Life of Software, AI and Algorithms’, explores how digital, smart and computational media may be radically transforming ‘the human’.
