It also runs an accreditation scheme for EAP courses. We are delighted to be hosting the BALEAP Professional Issues Meeting (PIM) online on 6 November 2020. <\/p>\n<p>The theme of the PIM is <em>2020 Visions: Looking Back and Looking Ahead<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The new decade has brought with it major shifts in higher education, with many challenges and opportunities. This event will allow participants to explore how EAP practitioners have responded to these and how they have influenced future plans.\u00a0 It will also allow participants to reflect on the past and look forward to the future, as we adjust to, work with and create the \u2018new normal\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>We are now inviting EAP colleagues in the UK and further afield to submit proposals for sessions on a range of topics: \u00a0a PIM online is a great opportunity to present from anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_580\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-580\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-580 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/cewl-ip\/files\/2020\/08\/webinar-4215688_1920-image-300x194.jpg\" alt=\"Present a session online\" width=\"300\" height=\"194\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-580\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Present a session online<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Possible topics to explore are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the response to the \u2018new normal\u2019 so far, our plans looking ahead<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>tools and techniques \u2013 from materials to assessment to pedagogy\/approaches and blended learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>the learning environment \u2013 inside and outside the classroom, the impact of a \u2018digital first\u2019 approach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>the learner \u2013 what does the learner now want and need?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>the practitioner \u2013 how has the changing environment affected us?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>how have we adapted to the changing environment?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>what has worked and what has not?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>what is next and where do we want to go?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other suggestions are welcome.
