On December 3rd, we hosted our most recent Global Hangout, bringing together students from Kent for a winter celebration. The event was filled with festive spirit, featuring activities like gingerbread decorating, a fun Photo Booth and plenty of opportunities to connect with others over mince pies and mulled apple.
I decided to dive into gingerbread decorating, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my afternoon! Sitting with friends and meeting new people, including international students from Spain, Italy, and Japan, was such a lovely experience. We exchanged stories from life at Kent and back home, and this made the event even more special. That being said, Gen’s decorating skills put my table’s efforts to shame!
Whether people were bonding over activities or sharing laughs, there was a true sense of community in the room. My favourite moment was when we all came together for the quiz. I may be a little biased here, as I somehow managed to win!
Overall, it was a fantastic way to wrap up the term. Events like this always remind us of the importance of coming together and building new relationships. I’m already excited for our next Hangout in January, I hope to see you there!
