{"id":76,"date":"2025-07-05T12:00:41","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T11:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/klsemployability\/?page_id=76"},"modified":"2025-08-08T13:47:03","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T12:47:03","slug":"off-campus-events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/getintolaw\/employability-events\/off-campus-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Off-campus events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>The events shown below are brought to your attention as they may be of interest to some of you. <strong>Unless otherwise stated the University of Kent\u00a0is not involved in any of them and cannot endorse any.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Notes about this page<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This page does NOT attempt to list upcoming events &#8211; these are listed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/careers\/uni-kent-careers-hub#find-out-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Careers Hub.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>However, there are a number of organisations that have regular events throughout the year (including the holidays &#8211; stay switched on!) which you can attend for free.\u00a0 \u00a0It is too time consuming for us to list each and every one of these so we have given you the link to the events listings page on their websites although sometimes we also highlight some that we think are of particular importance.<\/li>\n<li>Whilst we are not able to endorse any of the events we do consider who is running them and the content before we bring them to your attention.<\/li>\n<li>99% of the events are free to attend. There are a couple of events each year which cost a small amount of money (less than \u00a350) which we think offer value.\u00a0 \u00a0We do not endorse or promote any other opportunities which come at a cost to the student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color: #333333\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Remember:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is no way you can attend everything!\u00a0 Be selective.<\/li>\n<li>Legal recruitment does start in year 1 and, thus, it is not easy to say that a particular event is relevant to a particular year group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Bar Council Pupillage Fair.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><b>Take place in October every year in <\/b>London.<\/h4>\n<p>There is usually over 100 exhibitors including barristers, chambers, Inns of Court and Specialist Bar Associations, seminar programme and CV clinic.<\/p>\n<p>Online seminars in the week leading up to the event covering subjects from funding, CV building and sharing what life is like at the Bar.<\/p>\n<p>You will find details <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcouncil.org.uk\/training-events.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> &#8211;
