The content will never be fully comprehensive but it will give you some suggestions for finding further information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>Some ideas to help you reflect on your own internationalism:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Kent Global Passport:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/myfolio.kent.ac.uk\/myfolio\/artefact\/globalpassport\/\">Kent Global Passport<\/a>\u00a0(KGP) is a free online app which has been designed to help you to highlight your international skills and experience. The aim is to help you make the most of internationally-relevant activity in your daily life. The KGP understands that your international skills and experiences are developed through mixing in our international community. It isn\u2019t always about time spent in other countries &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/global\/passport\/index.html\">find out more here<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>How to use your UK LLB in another Country:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">It is important that you check with the relevant professional body in the jurisdiction that you wish to practice in to see if the English LLB is recognised as the correct entry qualification for the professional exams in that jurisdiction.\u00a0 If you are progressing to the LPC or Bar courses you must also check how they are received &#8211; in many common law countries you may find that you have to do a short conversion course to become a lawyer in that country.\u00a0 In non-common law countries the British qualification may not give you exemptions.\u00a0 \u00a0It is too early to be able to advise how the SQE will be received internationally.\u00a0 \u00a0If you wish to qualify in GB and immediately work in another jurisdiction you MUST seek advice from that country (this doesn&#8217;t apply for anyone getting a GB training contract and working for an international firm).<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Internships:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">In the legal industry in GB we do not tend to use the terminology &#8220;internship&#8221; but it is common parlance in other parts of the world.\u00a0 \u00a0If you have the opportunity to gain work experience in another country you should do it even if it is not the country that you ultimately wish to practice in &#8211; all experience is good.\u00a0 \u00a0Such internships can be extremely useful and instrumental in developing an international career.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #808080\">Resources:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The University&#8217;s Careers &amp; Employability webpages includes advice on working internationally and also a jobs portal &#8211; see the 6th tile (&#8220;Targeted Information&#8221;) here <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/ces\/advice.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/ces\/advice.html\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Kent Business School has a good page on their employability blog about internships abroad.\u00a0 See<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-employability\/work-experience\/abroad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-employability\/work-experience\/abroad\/\u00a0 \u00a0<\/a>This includes opportunities in Europe and USA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>Membership organisations:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">There are many organisations, societies and groups that can help you to develop an understanding of international law or legally relevant issues, develop relevant skills\u00a0and more.\u00a0\u00a0Get involved with something:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>University based groups:<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">There are many student societies which you can join to help develop your understanding of law in an international context or, more generally, to gain a\u00a0cultural awareness.\u00a0For example:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/elsa.org\/\">European Law Students Associatio<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/elsa.org\/\">n\u00a0<\/a>ELSA is the world\u2019s largest law student and young lawyer network, spanning 42 countries and consisting of 38,000 members.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ILSatKLS\">Kent International Law Society<\/a>\u00a0The aim of this society is to <em>&#8220;provide information and tools that allow KLS students to explore international law and to participate in mock transnational dispute management events.&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/critical.law.society\/\">Kent Critical Law Society<\/a>\u00a0This society frequently examines issues of international legal interest.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KentCanadianLawSociety\/\">Canadian Law Society<\/a><strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>Their aim is <em>&#8220;Aiding all those who are interested in practicing law in Canada upon graduation.&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li>In the past there has been a Nigerian Law Society (why not restart it!?).<\/li>\n<li>There are many cultural Societies on campus. See the <a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kentunion.co.uk\/activities\/societies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kent Union pages<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000\"> to explore the opportunities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>2. Other student led groups \/ resources<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nilsinternational.org\"><strong>The Network for International Law Students<\/strong><\/a> &#8220;<em>seeks to promote legal awareness among all the people and encourage communication and cooperation among law students and young lawyers internationally; contribute to legal education; promote social responsibility in the field of law; increase opportunities for students to learn about other cultures and legal systems worldwide; and publicize educational and career opportunities in law.&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>3.
