One targeted at ECRs\/MCRs and a second on providing funds for public engagement and involvement.<br \/><br \/><strong>ECR\/MCR Sandpit for Development of Research Proposals<\/strong> <br \/><br \/>This will be a 2-day sandpit on May 4th and 5th targeted at Early and Mid- Career Researcher colleagues. The Sandpit event will include 20-30 academics, from a range of disciplines, through which it is hoped 8-10 research proposals\/teams will be formed. Research teams will then have the opportunity to pitch for up to \u00a33000 of seed-corn funding to support the further development of their idea. A short application form can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/livekentac.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/r\/teams\/FutureHuman\/Shared%20Documents\/General\/Application%20Form%20for%20ECR_MCR%20Sandpit.docx?d=w5b855912665f4f568978ab1db8c9388b&amp;csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=sQ53eV\">here<\/a> and should be submitted to the Future Human leadership team <a href=\"mailto:futurehuman@kent.ac.uk\">futurehuman@kent.ac.uk<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/futurehuman@kent.ac.\">\u00a0<\/a>by<strong> midday March 31st<\/strong>. Successful applicants will be notified by April 8th. <br \/><br \/><strong>Public engagement and involvement in research fund<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>To support involvement of the public in activities related to engagement and\/or involvement in research, we are offering colleagues the opportunity to apply for our public engagement and involvement in research fund.<br \/>The fund will provide up to \u00a3500 per application to cover costs associated with participatory activities such as (but not limited to):<br \/>\u2022 Reimbursement to public for time spent on involvement and\/or engagement activities <br \/>\u2022 Costs to enable participation of public in research activities (i.e. costs associated with transport, child care or carers duties)<br \/>\u2022 Costs for running a public engagement event (i.e. refreshments, venue hire, postage, publicity)<br \/>\u2022 Training for public members<br \/>The application form can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/livekentac.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/r\/teams\/FutureHuman\/Shared%20Documents\/General\/Application%20Form%20for%20Public%20Engagement_Involvement%20in%20Research%20Fund.docx?d=w271a7723e34644d4ac6a6f30d2b9ad5f&amp;csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=XUjbwE\">here<\/a>.
