New Funding Opportunities Launched

The Future Human SRT has launched two new funding opportunities. One targeted at ECRs/MCRs and a second on providing funds for public engagement and involvement.

ECR/MCR Sandpit for Development of Research Proposals

This will be a 2-day sandpit on May 4th and 5th targeted at Early and Mid- Career Researcher colleagues. The Sandpit event will include 20-30 academics, from a range of disciplines, through which it is hoped 8-10 research proposals/teams will be formed. Research teams will then have the opportunity to pitch for up to £3000 of seed-corn funding to support the further development of their idea. A short application form can be found here and should be submitted to the Future Human leadership team futurehuman@kent.ac.uk by midday March 31st. Successful applicants will be notified by April 8th.

Public engagement and involvement in research fund

To support involvement of the public in activities related to engagement and/or involvement in research, we are offering colleagues the opportunity to apply for our public engagement and involvement in research fund.
The fund will provide up to £500 per application to cover costs associated with participatory activities such as (but not limited to):
• Reimbursement to public for time spent on involvement and/or engagement activities
• Costs to enable participation of public in research activities (i.e. costs associated with transport, child care or carers duties)
• Costs for running a public engagement event (i.e. refreshments, venue hire, postage, publicity)
• Training for public members
The application form can be found here. This will need to be submitted to Future Human leadership team at futurehuman@kent.ac.uk by 10:00am March 4th
