{"id":934,"date":"2022-04-01T17:12:04","date_gmt":"2022-04-01T16:12:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/eu-rights-clinic\/?p=934"},"modified":"2022-04-01T17:12:39","modified_gmt":"2022-04-01T16:12:39","slug":"m-card-in-belgium-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/eu-rights-clinic\/m-card-in-belgium-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"Your M-card application &#8211; how did it go?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/eu-rights-clinic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU Rights Clinic<\/a>\u00a0is conducting a <a href=\"https:\/\/kent.onlinesurveys.ac.uk\/m-card-in-belgium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> on problems which UK nationals and their family members may have encountered when applying for an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bbca.wildapricot.org\/News-and-Events\/10291803\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M card<\/a>\u00a0or frontier worker permit to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dofi.ibz.be\/en\/themes\/brexit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">secure their residence in Belgium<\/a>\u00a0after Brexit. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/eu-rights-clinic\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU Rights Clinic<\/a>\u00a0is a law clinic based in Brussels which specialises in free movement rights. All responses are collated anonymously and will be used to advocate for the rights of UK nationals before the EU institutions. The survey runs until 31\u00a0May 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please complete this <a href=\"https:\/\/kent.onlinesurveys.ac.uk\/m-card-in-belgium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> to help us with our research on how Brexit and the M card process was rolled out in Belgium.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The purpose of this survey is to identify systemic problems in the issuance of resident cards to UK nationals who have chosen to make Belgium their home or frontier worker permits to those who want to continue working there while residing elsewhere\u200b. In the event such problems are identified, we intend on raising the matter further with the EU and Belgian authorities. We also intend on publishing results of the\u00a0survey together with our analysis.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>You can fill this <a href=\"https:\/\/kent.onlinesurveys.ac.uk\/m-card-in-belgium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> in if you are a UK national who lived in Belgium before 31 December 2020, or a family member of a UK national, or someone who applied for a frontier worker permit. This <a href=\"https:\/\/kent.onlinesurveys.ac.uk\/m-card-in-belgium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> is anonymous and no personal data will be collected or shared.
