Why do I need to switch the active vehicle on my permit?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Only the active vehicle will show as having a valid permit on Campus Security\u2019s handheld enforcement devices. Therefore it is important that you have the correct registration as your active vehicle.<\/p>\n

How to switch the active vehicle on your permit<\/strong><\/p>\n

To switch the active vehicle on your permit, login to the permit system<\/a>, select \u201cmy permits\u201d and select the green vehicle icon. If you have two vehicles on your permit record press \u201cswitch vehicle\u201d. If you have more than two vehicles, untick your vehicle and tick your new active vehicle.<\/p>\n

Tip 1: Save the webpage to your internet browser<\/strong><\/p>\n

Internet Explorer<\/em><\/p>\n

  1. Open Internet Explorer and select the cog icon in top right corner.<\/li>\n
  2. Select \u201cInternet Options\u201d and on the first tab (general), copy and paste https:\/\/permits.paysmarti.co.uk\/acct\/uniofkent\/<\/a> into homepage box on a separate line to any other webpage URLs. Press \u201cApply\u201d.<\/li>\n
  3. Re-open Internet Explorer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Google Chrome <\/em><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Open Google Chrome and select the ellipsis (three vertical dots) in top right corner.<\/li>\n
    2. Select \u201cSettings\u201d and scroll down to \u201cOn startup\u201d.<\/li>\n
    3. Choose \u201cOpen a specific page or set of pages\u201d and \u201cAdd a new page\u201d.<\/li>\n
    4. Copy and paste https:\/\/permits.paysmarti.co.uk\/acct\/uniofkent\/<\/a> and press \u201cAdd\u201d.<\/li>\n
    5. Re-open Google Chrome.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Tip 2: Save the webpage as a desktop shortcut<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Windows or Mac<\/em><\/p>\n

      1. Open web browser and copy and paste https:\/\/permits.paysmarti.co.uk\/acct\/uniofkent\/<\/a><\/li>\n
      2. Adjust size of webpage so you can see some of the desktop.<\/li>\n
      3. Select the entire URL and click and drag onto the desktop to create shortcut.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Tip 3: Save the webpage to your smartphone\u2019s home screen (similar to an App)<\/strong><\/p>\n

        IPhone<\/em><\/p>\n

        1. Open Safari and type in kent.ac.uk\/transport\/byroad<\/a><\/li>\n
        2. Select the button \u201clog in to permit account\u201d and enter your usual login and password.<\/li>\n
        3. Press icon in the bottom of screen (square with arrow), scroll across bottom row of icons, select \u201cAdd to Home Screen\u201d and \u201cAdd\u201d to confirm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Android (using Google Chrome)<\/em><\/p>\n
