\"\"<\/a>The Book Project<\/h1>\n

The Book Project<\/a> is an undergraduate Creative Writing module that gives students the opportunity to publish a small book of creative writing in any genre. The module helps students to develop their writing from initial idea, through various types of publishing to a finished published piece. This year\u2019s launch took place in the Special Collections of the University\u2019s Templeman Library on 5th April. All the students produced print on demand books as part of the assessment and these will be deposited in the university library for future students to see. \u00a0One local student, Ann-Marie Fleming, has had an article published on her book in the Isle of Thanet Gazette. Students in the School of English are preparing to welcome a series of industry professionals as part of the Creative Writing Tuesday Reading Series. This term’s series, which will focus on publishing, agenting and bookselling, will begin with a visit from Nicholas Pearson,<\/strong> the Publishing Director of 4th Estate. In recent times he has published, among many other award-winning and acclaimed novels, the likes of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall<\/em> and Jonathan Franzen’s Freedom<\/em>. Nicholas will be talking about the publishing industry, its practices and manners and will be answering questions from the audience.<\/p>\n
