{"id":598,"date":"2013-11-13T09:26:33","date_gmt":"2013-11-13T09:26:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/english-news\/?p=598"},"modified":"2017-01-13T11:58:53","modified_gmt":"2017-01-13T11:58:53","slug":"year-abroad-english-student-wins-essay-prize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/english-news\/2013\/11\/13\/year-abroad-english-student-wins-essay-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"Year Abroad English student wins essay prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Georgia Hingston, an English &amp; American Literature and Creative Writing student, has been awarded a prize in the ERASMUS essay competition.<\/p>\n<p>After submitting her essay on her experience studying abroad, Georgia was awarded the Highly Commended prize, a \u00a375 Amazon voucher to be collected in person from the British Council in London next month.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia, who spent a year in Copenhagen for the third year of her four year degree, said:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would say that it is the best thing I have ever done. It has enriched me so much, culturally and as a person. I feel I have a greater sense of self and that it is down to the fantastic people who where so warm and welcoming whom I met from different cultures having come to Denmark from all over the world.
