{"id":469,"date":"2013-08-01T08:55:52","date_gmt":"2013-08-01T08:55:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/english-news\/?p=469"},"modified":"2017-01-13T11:59:04","modified_gmt":"2017-01-13T11:59:04","slug":"star-dancers-come-to-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/english-news\/2013\/08\/01\/star-dancers-come-to-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"Star dancers come to Kent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two university dance enthusiasts (including our very own Head of School, Professor Peter Brown) recently enjoyed a meeting with TV dancing stars, Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Brown and Linda Lough, (Faculty Administration Manager for Sciences) met the <i>Strictly Come Dancing<\/i> stars as part of the University&#8217;s corporate membership of the Marlowe Theatre. Vincent and Flavia were appearing in <i>Midnight Tango<\/i> from 15-20 July at the Theatre in Canterbury.<\/p>\n<p>Peter, a keen Tango dancer, was taught by Flavia before she and Vincent became TV stars. He said: &#8216;She was down to earth, encouraging, and inspired confidence: in short, a model teacher.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Linda said afterwards: &#8216;It was a lovely afternoon. We were delighted to meet Vincent and Flavia who were relaxed and friendly and answered questions quite openly and with humour&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The university enjoys a close relationship with both of the theatres in Canterbury.
