How did it look, smell, and sound? What snacks could you buy at intermission? Who checked your ticket at the door? How can all this help you with your A-Level exam?

Join Dr Callan Davies to find out. Dr Davies is an expert on Shakespearean theatre, whose research combines literary analysis, archaeological evidence, innovative digital methods and experimental restagings. He will take you back to the 1590s, so you can see what it was like to see a Shakespeare play in the age of Shakespeare himself. Looking at Othello and A Midsummer Night’s Dream in particular, he will then explain how understanding Shakespeare’s playhouses can help you understand Shakespeare’s plays. Whichever play you are studying for A-Level, the session will be valuable for you.

Use this link to join the live event on Thursday 26 November at 17.00!

IMAGE CREDIT: The Theatre by Walter C.
