{"id":2363,"date":"2019-02-04T12:38:34","date_gmt":"2019-02-04T12:38:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/english-news\/?p=2363"},"modified":"2019-02-04T16:25:11","modified_gmt":"2019-02-04T16:25:11","slug":"national-student-survey-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/english-news\/2019\/02\/04\/national-student-survey-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"National Student Survey 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestudentsurvey.com\/\">National Student Survey (NSS)<\/a>\u00a0is a national survey, which has been conducted by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/ipsos-mori\/en-uk\">Ipsos MORI<\/a>\u00a0annually since 2005.<\/p>\n<p>This feedback provides us with a picture of what the learning experience has been like for students completing their course in that year. We are able to use the results to identify areas of strength and weakness. This information can be used to help effect changes designed to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/student\/experience\/\">improve the student experience<\/a>\u00a0for both current and prospective students. More widely, the NSS provides information as part of the higher education quality assurance system.<\/p>\n<p>The NSS is commissioned by the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hefce.ac.uk\/\">Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE)<\/a>, on behalf of the UK funding bodies and administered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/ipsos-mori\/en-uk\">Ipsos MORI<\/a>, an independent research company and as a result all responses are anonymous.<\/p>\n<h3>Who is eligible?<\/h3>\n<p>Eligible students are nominated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/ipsos-mori\/en-uk\">Ipsos MORI<\/a> and will have been contacted directly.\u00a0 \u00a0In most cases, the survey is available to final year undergraduate students.\u00a0 In some cases, students may be asked to complete their survey in their penultimate year.<\/p>\n<h3>Incentive Period<\/h3>\n<p>The University is offering a <strong>\u00a310 Amazon voucher<\/strong> to all students who complete the survey before Monday the 18th February.\u00a0 \u00a0To qualify, students must send their survey completion email to nssawards@kent.ac.uk<\/p>\n<p>The School of English is offering an additional prize draw of a <strong>\u00a350 Amazon voucher<\/strong> for those who complete the survey before Monday the 18th February.\u00a0 \u00a0To enter the draw students must send their completion email to englishevents@kent.ac.uk.\u00a0 The winner will be selected at random and announced during the last week of February.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0National Student Survey (NSS)\u00a0is a national survey, which has been conducted by\u00a0Ipsos MORI\u00a0annually since 2005.
