<\/a><\/p>\nThree students from the University of Kent performed their poems at the SALT Festival in Folkestone on Sunday September 9. Now in its third year, this Festival is co-curated by Folkestone Quarterhouse, Fokestone Fringe, and Go to the Pine. The students were invited to give readings on water-based themes.\n<\/p>\n
MA student Danielle Hooke-Goodbody read from her sequence of poems titled \u201cShipwreck Journal,\u201d which takes in the history and geography of Thanet. Nyle Holihan, also an MA student in Creative Writing, read a section of his long poem \u201cWaterbound,\u201d which takes inspiration from traditional folk music, or re-interprets the song in the form of a poem. He also performed the folk song \u201cWaterbound\u201d on the banjo. Chloe Lord recently completed her BA in English and American Literature and Creative Writing at Kent, and she read from the pamphlet she published as part of the Book Project.<\/p>\n
