{"id":1061,"date":"2016-06-02T14:28:53","date_gmt":"2016-06-02T13:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/english-news\/?p=1061"},"modified":"2017-04-20T12:31:30","modified_gmt":"2017-04-20T11:31:30","slug":"kent-launch-for-refugee-tales-book","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/english-news\/2016\/06\/02\/kent-launch-for-refugee-tales-book\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent launch for Refugee Tales book"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new book featuring tales told as part of Refugee Tales 2015 will be launched in Gulbenkian foyer on <strong>Tuesday 7 June <\/strong>at<strong> 5pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The book, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/commapress.co.uk\/books\/refugee-tales\">Refugee Tales <i class=\"fa fa-external-link\"><\/i><\/a>,<\/em> features contributions from writers Patience Agbabi, Jade Amoli-Jackson, Chris Cleave, Stephen Collis, Inua Ellams, Abdulrazak Gurnah, David Herd, Marina Lewycka, Avaes Mohammad, Hubert Moore, Ali Smith, Dragan Todorovich, Carol Watts and Michael Zand.<\/p>\n<p>Published by <a href=\"http:\/\/commapress.co.uk\/\">Comma Press <i class=\"fa fa-external-link\"><\/i><\/a> on 16 June, the book will be\u00a0formally launched at this year\u2019s Hay-on-Wye Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The Kent launch, which is in partnership with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitstablebiennale.com\/\">Whitstable Biennale <i class=\"fa fa-external-link\"><\/i><\/a>, will include a reading by Abdulrazak Gurnah followed by a selection of short films.<\/p>\n<p>The event is free of charge and all are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new book featuring tales told as part of Refugee Tales 2015 will be launched in Gulbenkian foyer on Tuesday 7 June at 5pm.
