The book is a personal account of the author&#8217;s retreat from London to Orkney (the place of her birth) in an attempt to recover from alcoholism.<\/p>\n<p>In the same issue, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/english\/staff\/creganreid.html\">Dr Vybarr Cregan-Reid&#8217;s<\/a> essay &#8216;Run, Writer, Run&#8217; appears, in which he discusses the recent emergence of running literature and how it fits into a much longer tradition of nature writing and other kinds of walking literature.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two academic staff\u00a0in the School of English appeared in this month&#8217;s Literary Review.
