Overall the University of Kent was ranked in the upper quartile of participating institutions in terms of the best, or 4*, research.<br \/>\nHead of Department, Professor Sarah Spurgeon FREng, said \u201cWe are very proud of the result.  As a Department we are committed to providing an environment which is supporting world-class research in the subject areas in which we teach.
