{"id":576,"date":"2016-03-30T01:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-03-30T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.eda.kent.ac.uk\/news-ext\/2016\/03\/30\/research-seminar-biomedical-engineering-11th-april-at-2-pm-in-jlt\/"},"modified":"2016-03-30T01:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-03-30T00:00:00","slug":"research-seminar-biomedical-engineering-11th-april-at-2-pm-in-jlt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/engineering-news\/2016\/03\/30\/research-seminar-biomedical-engineering-11th-april-at-2-pm-in-jlt\/","title":{"rendered":"Research Seminar &#8211; &#8216;Biomedical Engineering&#8217; &#8211; 11th April at 2 pm in JLT"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>On Monday 11th April at 2 pm in Jennison Lecture Theatre, Professor Sergio Francisco Pichorim from UTFPR (Federal Technological University of Parana) will present information on UTFPR (the first university of &#8216;Technology&#8217; in Brazil) and current research in Biomedical Engineering. <\/p>\n<p>Professor Pichorim will present recent developments in the areas of Biomedical Instrumentation, Sensors and Biotelemetry and will also provide a short description about the project\/staff exchange between UTFPR and the University of Kent that is currently being funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering as a Newton Collaborative Research Project.<\/p>\n<p>Sergio Pichorim is a Professor at UTFPR (Federal Technological University of Parana) where he has supervised a number of doctoral and MSc research students.  He specialises in electronics, bioengineering, biopotential, and operational amplifiers. He holds two patents.
