{"id":2466,"date":"2020-06-01T15:32:14","date_gmt":"2020-06-01T14:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/eda-news\/?p=2466"},"modified":"2020-06-01T15:32:14","modified_gmt":"2020-06-01T14:32:14","slug":"congratulations-to-professor-yong-yan-upon-funding-from-uk-ccs-research-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/engineering-news\/2020\/06\/01\/congratulations-to-professor-yong-yan-upon-funding-from-uk-ccs-research-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations to Professor Yong Yan upon funding from UK CCS Research Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/engineering-digital-arts\/people\/739\/yan-yong\">Professor Yong Yan<\/a> from the School of Engineering and Digital Arts upon the recent award from <a href=\"https:\/\/epsrc.ukri.org\/\">EPSRC<\/a> via the <a href=\"https:\/\/ukccsrc.ac.uk\/\">UK Carbon Capture and Storage<\/a> (UK CCS) Research Centre for a collaborative project entitled \u2018Monitoring of CO2 flow under CCS conditions through multi-modal sensing and machine learning\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Measurement and monitoring of CO2 across the entire CCS chain is essential to gain an in-depth understanding of the physical and chemical characteristics of CO2 flow in pipelines and leakage plums over storage sites across different length and time scales. The project, with significant in-kind support from <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.krohne.com\/en\/\">KROHNE Limited<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.walsn.com\/\">WALSN Limited<\/a>, aims to implement and assess the performance and operability of a novel instrumentation system under CCS conditions on a dedicated CO2 test facility located at <a href=\"https:\/\/english.ncepu.edu.cn\/\">North China Electric Power University<\/a> (NCEPU), Beijing, China.
