Professor Jiangzhou Wang from the University\u2019s School of Engineering and Digital Arts has been awarded one of the highest honours in the field of engineering for his work on mobile communications technology.<\/p>\n

Professor Wang was one of 50 engineers admitted to the\u00a0Royal Academy of Engineering<\/a> at its AGM in London on 17 September. He will now help\u00a0contribute his expertise to the Academy\u00a0and its work to make the UK a leading nation for engineering innovation and business.<\/p>\n

The Royal Academy of Engineering\u00a0said that Professor Wang<\/a>\u00a0has made \u2018outstanding contributions to mobile communications engineering\u00a0spanning from 2G to 5G mobile communications\u2019.<\/p>\n

They continued: \u2018He is\u00a0distinguished internationally for his inventions and innovations\u00a0in signal detection and multiple access techniques in wireless mobile communications, which have been widely adopted in the worldwide communications industry.\u2019<\/p>\n

Professor Wang said: \u2018It is a fantastic honour to be made a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. I look forward tohelping promote the importance of science and engineering to the UK and the wider world\u00a0with the Academy in the years ahead.\u2019<\/p>\n

Professor Wang has\u00a0published over 300 papers in international journals and conferences\u00a0in the area of wireless mobile communications. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
