With the significant progress of material science, micro-fabrication and opto-electronics technologies in the 21st century, THz technology has attracted great interest in research and industry. Imaging, as the most powerful for human beings to understand the world, has become the hot topic in THz regime. As a novel approach, THz imaging has shown a lot of potentials. In this Presentation, Professor Feng Qi will share his research work in the field of THz imaging from both electronics and photonics.
Feng Qi is Professor and Director of THz Imaging Lab at Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He got the bachelor degree from Zhejiang University, the master and PhD degrees from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. Later, he worked in Japan, Germany and UK with his research interest focused on THz technology. His expertise includes microwave, laser and radar. In 2015, he went back to China and found the THz Imaging Lab, which consists of 5 staffs, 6 students and 1 guest professor (from DLR, Germany) at the moment. He is now leading 3 national projects and 1 project from CAS. Since 2012, he has been with the TPC of Global Symposium on Millimeter Waves and got the ‘Best Paper Award’ in 2014. In 2013, he attended the Global Young Scientist Summit in Singapore.
All members of staff are welcome to the seminar. RAs and postgraduate students are particularly encouraged to attend. For any enquiries, please contact Professor Jiangzhou Wang.
