The Right Reverend Dr Tom Butler provides key note address for EDA’s 50th celebrations

On Saturday 5th September, as part of Kent’s 50th festivities, EDA will be open-house all day with lots of exciting events going on for all ages from 11 am until 6.30 pm.

Our special celebratory day concludes with a key note address ‘To Err is Human; to Forgive is Divine; to Check is Engineering!’ at 4 pm by the Right Reverend Dr Tom Butler, the ninth Anglican Bishop of Southwark. He retired from this position in 2010 and has since been involved in the transition process for the new Diocese of Leeds as ‘mentor bishop’ since February 2014, as acting diocesan Bishop of Bradford (February-20 April 2014) and as interim area bishop for Bradford since 20 April 2014.

Bishop Tom was also a Lecturer of Electronics in EDA (formerly known as the Department of Electronics), as well as Chaplin to the University in the 1980’s and will fondly recall his time at Kent.

This lecture will take place in the Jennison Lecture Theatre (119 seats available). As places are limited, this will be a ticket only event, so to avoid disappointment, please make sure you book early using this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/to-err-is-human-to-forgive-i…

After the lecture, there will be a drinks reception in EDA.
