In this seminar, Dr Craig will explore the role arts can play in promoting well-being of individuals living with dementia. She will also use it as an opportunity to describe a recent project utilising photography as a way of eliciting the experiences of individuals living with the condition.
Dr. Claire Craig is a qualified occupational therapist with a particular interest in the potential of creativity and creative approaches to promote communication and self-esteem for people with dementia. She currently works as a lecturer in occupational therapy and as co-director of Lab4Living, an inter-professional research centre that brings together researchers in design, fine art, health and design who engage in research with individuals and services to drive innovation and develop products in healthcare service design and delivery.
All members of academic, technical and administrative staff are welcome to the seminar. RAs and postgraduates (PhD candidates and MSc students) are particularly encouraged to attend the event. For any further enquiry, please contact Ms Ania Bobrowicz (A.Bobrowicz@kent.ac.uk).
