EDA looks forward to hosting visit by St Edmund’s School, Canterbury

On Friday 20th June, the School of Engineering and Digital Arts looks forward to welcoming St Edmund’s School, Canterbury to the Jennison Building where pupils will experience first-hand, various science and engineering activities.

Mohamed Sobhy, Emeritus Professor of Electronics, will be presenting a lecture on “Chaos in Physical Systems” and visitors will have the opportunity to view the School’s teaching and research laboratories. Specific activities include; a hands-on experiment to program a circuit which controls traffic lights, a demonstration of how RFID tags can assist those with disabilities, and a demonstration of antenna characterisation and signal transmission. In addition, there will be tours of the Chemistry, Physics and Forensic Science Laboratories and the event will conclude with a lecture by Bob Newport on “Glass: A Physics Look inside”.
