Almost 100 members of EDA staff and postgraduate students attended, along with representatives from Kent Innovation and Enterprise, Research Services, the School of Physical Science, and the School’s Engineering Industrial Panel.
Oral presentations were given on current work by postgraduate students and staff from each research group. There were three repeated poster sessions for the presentation of fifty one posters produced by the postgraduate students, research fellows and academic staff.
Following positive reviews after the US premiere of Richard Misek’s documentry “Rohmer in Paris” the School was pleased to include this as the final presentation of the day.
The conference was designed to promote interdisciplinary research and foster internal and external collaborations within the School and beyond, to enhance the transferable and professional skills (communication, presentation and networking skills) of postgraduate researchers and to improve communications and interactions between academic staff, researchers and support staff within the School.
Steve Kelly, Senior Lecturer in Electronic Engineering thought “It was a great opportunity for post graduates to experience attending and taking part in a conference and gave them the chance to network with other research groups and find out about their research projects”.
