The School of Engineering and Digital Arts is delighted to announce a call for Cyber Security PhD studentships for 2020 entry.
Funding is available at the current home fee rate of £4,327 (rate for 2019/20) together with a maintenance grant of £15,009 (rate for 2019/20).
Applications are particularly encouraged from applicants wishing to appoint any of the prospective supervisors whose research interests are as follows:-
Farzin Deravi: Biometrics, Privacy Protection, Identity Management, Face Recognition, Device Authentication
Richard Guest: Biometrics (including Environmental Assessment, Sample Quality, Testing and Evaluation, Human/Machine Decision Making), Face Verification, Fingerprint Verification, Mobile Device Security, Continuous Authentication
Sanaul Hoque: EEG Biometrics, Attack Detection, Biometric Template Ageing Gareth Howells: Device Authentication, Security for Edge computing, IoT Security, Malware Detection
We are looking for an excellent student with a good Honours degree (First or 2i) and, preferably, a Master’s degree at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent.
Successful candidates will demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding research potential. The studentship will be administered under the Graduate Teaching Assistant Scheme with the expectation that some teaching will be undertaken.
