Jim Ang, Senior Lecturer in Multimedia/Digital Systems and Director of Graduate Studies (Taught) in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts has recently returned to the UK following academic internationalisation visits to a number of universities in Thailand and Malaysia.
Whilst in Bangkok, Jim attended the British Council Education Fair, and talked to prospective students from Thailand who were interested in studying at the University of Kent. Jim also visited Thammasat University in Bangkok, and had an interesting meeting regarding collaborative research in the area of digital health and health engineering.
He then travelled North to visit Dr Pruet Putjorn, who recently completed his PhD in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts and is now an academic in Mea Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai. In Northern Thailand, Jim delivered a research presentation in Chiang Mai University and Mea Fah Luang, on his research in the area of Game and Sensing Technologies for Healthcare.
Jim travelled south to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and visited three universities where he, delivered a presentation at the University Kuala Lumpur, and visited the Medical School in University Malaya to discuss Kent’s on-going research collaboration in digital health/health engineering. Jim’s final stop was Taylor’s University, where he met with colleagues from the School of Computing and IT, and School of Design.
