The School of Engineering and Digital Arts is delighted to offer a PhD studentship funded by Avante Care, investigating the deployment and evaluation of VR in care home settings for people with dementia.
Funding is available at the current home fee rate of £4,407.00. There will also be combined maintenance funding of £15,285.00 (2020/21 rate).
In this PhD, you will be working with Avante care homes based in Southeast England to deploy and evaluate VR for dementia care. Principally based on Kent Campus, it is also expected that the student will develop a close working relationship with Avante Care and conduct experimental work on their sites from time to time.
