Dr Huiling Zhu, Reader in Communications, visits China for a collaborative project on emergency communication networks

Dr Huiling Zhu, Reader in Communications, School of Engineering and Digital Arts has recently returned from an academic visit to China.  There, she visited the State Key Laboratory of Integrated Services Networks at Xidian University, Xi’an, Chian, for a collaborative project on emergency communication networks.

This project is funded by the Chinese government under the “One Belt One Road Programme”. During the visit, Dr Zhu presented the network deployment schemes developed by the Communications Research Group in EDA. Colleagues in Xidian demonstrated their simulation platform for network deployment and their drone-based test bed for emergency communications. Future research collaboration proposals and research student exchanges were also discussed.
