Dr Chao Wang, Senior Lecturer in Electronic Systems, and Professor Nathan Gomes, Professor of Optical Fibre Communications and Director of Research, from the School of Engineering and Digital Arts attended the IEEE International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics in Toulouse, from 22nd to 25th October 2018. Toulouse is the home of Airbus Industries and Thales Alenia Space, with aerospace becoming an increasingly important application area for microwave photonics. Dr Wang made two oral paper presentations on 23rd October, and presented a a poster on 25th. Professor Gomes delivered a presentation on 25th October. In addition, Professor Gomes and Dr Wang represented the UK at a management meeting for the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) action on Integrated Microwave Photonics (CA16220).
